POSITION OVERVIEW: A Sales Engineer has the responsibility of initiating customer contact, hunting to create prospects, and converting prospects into sales opportunities.
The Sales Engineer is also responsible for key account management and growing the existing customers via building opportunities from within each established Account.
A Sales Engineer will utilize the Alliance Proven Process to properly cultivate each Sales Project Opportunity.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
30% of your day is spent identifying and helping current customers solve automation problems which may include:
Learning technical details and knowing how to apply available resources
Documenting and relaying to the Engineering and Applications team the customer requirements
Maintaining and growing current customer relationships
50% of your day is spent identifying and developing new leads and pursuing opportunities
Cold calling/prospecting
Identifying and vetting opportunities through marketing and inside sales
Customer visits
New business development - 5 new prospects weekly
20% of your day is spent working alongside inside resources in a team environment
Keeping track of current projects and maintaining timelines
Providing feedback on quotes and developments within customers
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Highest level of integrity, EQ, and sales acumen
Possess a winning and creative approach to identifying customer solutions
Be able to convey complex thought via verbal or written examples
History of maintaining key accounts and prospecting success
Proven ability to continually develop and contact prospective customers
Some overnight travel will be required up to 35%
2-5 years of previous industrial sales experience
Knowledge of industrial automation solutions
A four-year degree in engineering or a technical discipline - preferably Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
Results-driven and ambitious
Excellent organization, time-management, and communication skills
Strong customer focus and the ability to work on your own initiative
Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
CRM experience is a plus
