PT - 1st Shift.
No weekends or holidays required.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
Responsible for patient education, support, and overall coordination of care for all patients participating in the heartburn treatment center process.
Will accompany the patient throughout each step of the prescribed treatment process.
Responsible for performing esophageal manometry and 48-hour ambulatory pH studies.
Responsible for initiating and maintaining the timely flow of pertinent and required information to patients and all participating physicians.
Acts as the access point for self-referrals and physician referrals, including the mailing of appropriate patient education materials.
Responsible for the collection of data designed to assess patient reaction to the process, as well as suggestions for enhancements.
Responsible for implementing the execution of the Heartburn Treatment Center marketing plan and efforts to raise community awareness of GERD and its treatment options by distributing information brochures, organizing physician, public, and patient education events, and providing a system of follow-up for effectiveness.
Requirements
Demonstrates leadership ability in addition to basic med/surg nursing skills including nasogastric tube insertion.
Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with patients, the public, outside regulatory agencies, employees, peers, and physicians.
Education/Certifications
Nursing degree from an accredited nursing program.
Licensed Nurse in the State of Ohio.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years current clinical experience.
Must possess significant clinical nursing experience including broad experience with surgical patients and/or those undergoing invasive procedures.
Must possess either clinical experience in performing esophageal manometry and 48-hour ambulatory pH studies or express a willingness to be trained in these procedures.
Previous health care management and/or marketing experience preferred.
