JOB SUMMARY Dispatcher receives requests for transport and coordinates available resources for multiple service lines, including emergency, non-emergency, and special transport requests.
Is responsible for receiving, coordinating, and disseminating critical information from various sources, including emergency and non-emergency requests for services.
Coordinates all aspects of the transport and monitors the location of all units at all times following all safety practices.
Will evaluate deployment plans and resource performance to best meet unit resource allocation to meet customer demand and to facilitate the best patient care possible.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS % Time 20%Coordinate transport arrangements between requesting parties and the agency by supporting activities, documenting, and monitoring all assignments.
20%Operation of a multi-line telephone and multi-channel radio system, and providing excellent customer service for all calling parties.
20%Maintains radio contact with mobile/field units to monitor response, progress and any needed support.
20%Be familiar with all resources and services available to callers and offer these resources and services as appropriate, by maintaining recordkeeping of all resource activity on computer data entry or hard copy.
20%Determine nature and location of emergency; prioritize, dispatch, implementing emergency procedures as needed in accordance with established procedure and giving pre-arrival instructions as needed.
100% LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS (must be non-expired/active unless otherwise stated): Required: IS 100, IS 700, HCP CPR, EMD within 6 months, CFC certification within 1 year, and pass initial Operations Control Specialist within 18 month and annually, and must maintain all requirements throughout employment Preferred: Previous Helicopter Air Ambulance (HAA) dispatching experience or previous EMS/Law Enforcement dispatching preferred.
