Crosley Record/Radio/CD Player

I have a very nice Crosley tower Record Player with Radio and Cd player.

solid oak cabinet.
everything works perfect except the tone arm.
when I changed the needle, it somehow doesn't operate like it's supposed to.
when it comes across to play the album it just drops.
so, you have to manually put the arm on the record.
not sure why.
does come with extra needle.
